About
The Concordia Virtual Desktop can be accessed via many devices. So many that it is impossible to create tutorials for them all. To connect to our VDI, you must use the VMware Horizon View Client. As long as you can download that client, you can use the information below to connect to the virtual desktop. The systems that currently have a version of VMware Horizon View Client are:
- Windows
- Mac
- Ubuntu Linux
- iOS
- Android
- Windows 8 RT
Where to Download
Instructions for Mac, Windows, and iOS devices can be found on the previous page. If you are looking for those, go to Campus and Technology Services category, then the CU Shared Drives section, then select the correct tutorial.
Linux
you can download from VMware's website here.
Android and Windows 8 RT
Simply download the app from the devices respective app store.
Settings
Installation should be pretty straight forward. If you are a Linux user, you should be able to figure it out and once selected in android or RT, the app should automatically appear. The three things you will need to connect once the app is running is:
- Server: For On-Campus users it is, virtual.ntdom.cupdx | For Off-Campus users it is, virtual.cu-portland.edu
- Username and Password: you will use your network username and password to connect. This is the same set of credentials you use to access Concordia email.
- Desktop: You may only have one available. This will appear after entering your username and password. Simply select Student or Employee to continue.
Usage
Once connected you will be able to use the virtual desktop like you would any other Windows computer. Once done Log Off to end the session
