The Technology Service Center's primary responsibility is to provide technical support for tier one computer technical support and support of academic classroom technology. Special event Audio/Visual services are not a responsibility of the Technology Service Center beyond the maintenance and servicing of installed classroom equipment and the AV equipment installed in the Student Event and Activities Center (SEAC). As of January 2012, the Tech Center will no longer be providing external event services, and departments will either be directed to list of specific available equipment or instructed to contact a list of preferred vendors.
The Tech Center makes available on a first-come first-served basis a variety of audio and visual presentation equipment. This equipment is available for check-out by employees and students for business or academic purposes only. The Technology Center staff may provide training or orientation on the use of this equipment on a by-appointment basis.
The Tech Center is not responsible for setup or operation of Audio/Visual presentation equipment checked out by employees or students. The party requesting the equipment is responsible for checking out, setting up, operating and returning the equipment in like condition.
Where assistance is required for setup or operation of A/V equipment, the Tech Center staff will offer to provide by-appointment training for the requested equipment, or the requesting party may be referred to an outside provider for services. The requesting party is responsible for any expenses for services provided by outside providers of event A/V services.
