The Grading Tool is a tool that lets you import your grades from Blackboard, instead of manually entering them into MyCU.
First step is to log into portal.cu-portland.edu, Instructors can follow the link from the intranet or on the dashboard of portal, clicking the link "Grading Tool"
Instructors will see the sections they have taught that ended within 2 weeks, grouped by start and end date. They should click "Submit Grades" for the sections they wish to grade.
Next Instructors will see a list of the Students.
While using Blackboard is not required for this tool, it is designed to import grades, and apply a grading scale.
Once a scale is applied the drop down for the students letter grade will be applied.
Each section should get its own Scale.
Quickly check that the grades are all green and we are ready to "Submit Grades"
Instructors can override the computed grade, or submit grades that are not in Blackboard by using the "Override Grade" column.
If there is a failing grade then the tool requires "Last date of Attendance" to be filled out.
Notice it turned red.
Pick a date and we are green again!
Lastly, we default to submit all the grades, but if an Instructor wants to not fill out a grade, you can unclick the check box on the left.
For reference, here is the grading scale based on department:
If you have any questions regarding the grading scale, please contact your respective department.
