This is a 12 character hardware identifier, typically found in the device settings, and has the format of A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6 . This address allows us to pinpoint what networking equipment you were connected to when you report Wi-Fi issues to us. How you locate your MAC address depends on the operating system or device that you have.
Windows 10
Here is the easy way to get your MAC address (physical address) on Windows without using Command Prompt.
- Open up your Wi-Fi list, and choose "Network and Internet settings".
- Click the "Wi-Fi" tab on the side.
- Click "Hardware Properties".
- Your MAC address is listed on this page, under the name "Physical Address (MAC)".
Mac
- Click the Wi-Fi symbol in the top bar, and click on "Open Network Preferences".
- You should be on the Wi-Fi tab on the new screen. Please click the "Advanced" button in the bottom right.
- Your MAC address is displayed as "Wifi Address: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6" at the bottom of this new screen.
iOS
- Open the "Settings" application.
- Scroll down to "General" and click on it.
- Click on the "About" tab.
- Down near the bottom, you should see the MAC address listed as ""Wifi Address: A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6"
Android
Android hides its MAC address a little deeper than iOS.
- Open the "Settings" application.
- Click "Connections".
- Click "Wi-Fi" on the left hand part (not the toggle).
- In the upper right, please click on the three blue dots. This will bring up a context menu. Click "Advanced".
- Scroll down to the bottom, and click on the small grey text "VIEW MORE". The text will shift to say "VIEW LESS".
- Scroll down again, and you will see your MAC address displayed.
Playstation 4 (PS4)
- Navigate to "Settings".
- Scroll down and select "System".
- Select "System Information".
- Please provide the "MAC address (Wi-Fi)" option that is listed.
Xbox One
- Go to My Xbox in the Xbox Dashboard and select Settings.
- In the Settings menu, select Network.
- Select Advanced Settings from the Network Settings tab.
- At the bottom of this screen you'll see your Wireless or Wi-Fi MAC address listed.
