A part of the University closure operations, Concordia Portland ITS will be liquidating surplus and out of service technology hardware on a limited basis to employees.
Terms of Sale
Laptops, desktops or other data containing devices may be available for sale without a hard-drive.
Due to ongoing litigation, most computers will not be sold with their hard-drive*
This does not affect the selling price.
Purchasers will be responsible for buying all software or operating system licenses required.
Computers will not have a licensed operating system installed (Windows 10), and will not have licensed Microsoft Office applications. Purchasers must buy a license for Windows 10 and Office to have full access.
Laptops / Desktops
The university may be able to offer departing employees an opportunity to purchase used laptop and desktop computers. Due to ongoing operations and litigation requirements, not all hardware will be available for sale. There may be options for you to purchase the hardware you personally have been using as well as options to purchase other used hardware. Expected sale prices are:
- Laptops $100
- Laptop w/o Power Supply $75
- Desktops $50 (no mouse/keyboard/monitor included)
If you are interested in purchasing used hardware, please submit a ticket to support@cu-portland.edu with a list of items you wish to purchase. We will do our best to accommodate sale of single units to requesters first and wait-list requests for multiple units until all users have had an opportunity to request a for-sale unit.
Note: Due to limited staff and high volume of requests there may be delays of several days or more in responding to these tickets and processing hardware sales. Your patience please.
All devices must be processed and sold by an appropriate ITS staff member. If you wish to purchase the hardware you are presently using, it may be necessary for you to schedule a time to come back and pick up the processed hardware and paperwork at a later date, due to limited IT staffing availability during the closure. If you are interested in purchasing any available hardware of a specific type, we may be able to accommodate your purchase request sooner.
As-Is sale: All sales of any user computing hardware or peripherals will be As-Is with no warranty expressed or implied. All sales will be final. We will have no ability to process returns, refunds, repairs or any other services on hardware that is sold.

- Keyboards $10
- Webcams $20

Audio/Visual Hardware
At this time there is no plan to sell classroom, conference room or office TV's or other audio visual components. These are expected to be fixtures that are expected to be part of the sale of the property at this time. If this changes and there is an opportunity to offer A/V components or systems for sale, will update this information.
Software
The university cannot resell any of our currently held or licenses software at this time.
If you purchase a used laptop or desktop hardware unit, you will be responsible for licensing the operating system and purchasing any software.
It may be advantageous to some employees or faculty members to purchase hardware or software from third party vendors before their final day of employment if you wish to take advantage of Educational or Academic pricing where that may apply to you.
*Note regarding Hard Drives: Our laptops support either a standard 2.5" SATA hard drive or an NVMe type drive. Many different models and sizes are available from technology retailers such as Best Buy or Amazon. Please be sure to confirm in your support ticket which type of drive is supported before purchasing.
